Article: 'Breaking Dawn' won't be Rated R, Summit Promises
Since the book, Twilight, came out, tweens and teens everywhere have been drooling in anticipation of the movie version of this novel. In November 2008, to the dismay of every Harry Potter fan everywhere, their salivating mouths were finally closed when they got to view the famous book on the big screen. For some, the first movie was poor representation of the words of Stephanie Meyer and for some others, a movie could not get much better than that. For the second movie to be released in November 2009, Summit hired a new director and the movie was a success. It left twi-hards crying for more Edward and Bella action which they recieved on June 30th, 2010 when Eclipse hit theathers. It was a raving success. Even better than the second movie. My mother even bought it for me. Not that i've watched it yet. The problem now is with the fourth installment, Breaking Dawn's ratings. Even those who haven't read the book know that in it, Edward and Bella do IT. And then Bella gives birth. There is also the problem of a bunch of scary vampire and werewolf fights. Robert Pattinson even said he is worried the movie will be too scary for some of twilight's younger fans. "It's a horror movie. i just can't see how it's going to be PG-13. Unless they cut everything out." The last time my mother let me watch a movie where someone gives birth? She hasn't. Especially one where Bella has to give birth to a scary half breed who basically eats its way out of her stomach. The only problem with making it Rated R is that the movie won't make as much money. The main demographic of Twilight is teen girls 12-18. If they make it rated R only 17 and up can go to see it. Therefore, the movie won't make half as much money. In conclusion, i believe mothers everywhere are going to be in for a big surprise when they take their kids to see this movie. And an even longer night when their kid insists on sleeping in their room that night because they are scared.
