In Honor of the Day of Silence. . .

Around the US gays and lesbians are coming out of the closet in intensely religious schools. Most of these schools are homophobic, and think that homosexuality is a sin. They are suggesting therapy for kids that have homosexual tendencies! Most of these kids have been repressed their whole lives, because they lived in a intensely christian homes. It was only when they went to college that they developed their feelings. They're all worried that scholarships will be taken away or they could be expelled but they want their voices to be heard in places where they need voices the most.

I think that anyone should be anything they want to, and I'm sure that God never said, "Hey, no gays." That's a erroneous assumption and is just homophobic people using the bible as an excuse to voice their opinions.

I completely agree with what you said. People deserve the right to do and be with whoever they want to be. No one should stop them from being themselves.

aaaaaaagreed. I think that homophobia is simply people being afraid to show who they really are, and so they must retaliate on those who do. It says no where in the bible that gay marriage is wrong and that's just because it was not a prominent concept when the bible was written. It simply says, "Marriage is between a man and a woman". People who hide behind this statement and discriminate others should feel ashamed of themselves for putting down others for what they cannot control.

I totally agree with you Briana! People who hide behind the Bible also forget that the Bible says "love thy neighbor" I'm pretty sure God never said "love thy neighbor... unless he's gay or not like you" People who hide behind the Bible are just afraid of themselves.
