Headline: Students put their best feet forward
Check out this article here.
This article wasn't super informative, but basically tells you a story about a family and schools who go one day without shoes. This, in my opinion, is one of the coolest things ever. TOMS shoes have hundreds of different kinds and what they do is every time you buy a product they give a pair to a kid in need. The founder, Blake Mycoskie, decided to do this when he was visiting Argentina and discovered that kids there didn't have shoes.
I receive the TOMS newsletter and knew that today was A Day Without Shoes day. I wanted to participate, but you have to wear shoes in school. I'm mad I didn't think like these people and try to get a whole bunch of people to do it and raise awareness, but they always have at least one a year.
I am a proud owner of TOMS canvas shoes, and I love them. They are a little pricey but I don't mind because I know I'm helping a kid somewhere who doesn't have shoes.

They aren't that expensive - no more so than any other pair of shoes purchased outside of Payless. I really like these:

But I'd want them in red!
In all seriousness, though, I think that what this company does is amazing and I really respect their mission. Thanks for sharing MaryKate!
