50,000 new workers at McDonalds in ONE day?

Headline: McDonald's to hire 50,000 workers - in 1 day
McDonald's is planning a one-day hiring working spree of 50,000 new workers on April 19th, just for the US. It's going to include part-time, full-time jobs. The average pay is $8.30 per hour.
They're calling this "Mcjob". Honestly, I think this is really going work out. But, lots of teenagers want jobs and they want GOOD jobs. Some teens are actually afraid to say where they work because saying "I work at McDonald's" is just embarrassing. I really want to see what happens with this and I really want to know if they're really going to get 50,000 new workers in one day because there is a lot of people out there without jobs, but are the qualified for McDonalds? I'm just really curious to see what happens.

I think it's kind of interesting that they're doing this. I feel like it's good for the people who really need the money and need to pay for the necessities in their life because even though a lot of people would be embarrassed to say they work at McDonald's, some of the people need the money THAT bad.

Yeah, it's a reallly good thing to do actually. Just because of the economy and stuff. Even though it is McDonald's.

I just recently saw SuperSize Me in Health class. Therefore, looking at any McDonalds kind of makes me sick. I thought this was really interesting because I would be embarrassed to say " I work at McDonalds". I'm curious to see how this works out though.

Like steph, I have also just watched Supersize Me in health class. Although I have my own personal convictions about McDonalds, what they're doing is going to help many of people struggling to find a job in this economy. I think it'll be interesting to see the turn-out on how many people they hire.
