Mother, Kerry Campbell, gave her 8 year old child injections of botox for a beauty pageant. Kerry is familiar with botox, as she uses it on herself and claims it's safe. Millions of Americans also use botox, but these are adults, this drug is not safe or suitable for young children. Dr. Besser from ABC News rationalizes the harmful side effects of children using botox, "If you inject it in the face and it drifts to your throat, it can prevent you from swallowing. If it drifts to your breathing muscles..you can stop breathing. In a young child, if you're chronically using it on the face, it may actually change the shape of your face because your muscles interact with your bones to form what your face eventually looks like." The daughter, Britney, did want the injecions to rid of the "wrinkles" on her face. However, her mother should've looked at the bigger picture and realized these injections could be life threatening. Kerry Campbell refused to name her provider and it's a mystery as to what doctor would allow this procedure on an 8 year old. Her lack of judgment will lead to losing custody of her daughter or enrollment in parental classes.

This is terrible! I understand that pageant daughters are treated like show dogs, but botox injections are just bad. I'm sad now.
