Mother Admits a Voodoo Burning

On Wednesday, Marie Lauradin of New York City pleaded guilty to performing a voodoo ritual in which she poured flammable liquid on her daughter's head and lit it on fire. Although the child survived, she was left with permament scars on her body. Ms. Lauradin did admit to her actions and authorities claim that she was aware of the fact that what she was doing was hazardous. This woman will now face a well-deserved prison time of over 15 years. It doesn't seem as if Ms. Lauradin was intentionally trying to harm her child, but the fact that she was able to cause such danger to her own daughter is insane and clearly something should be done to force her to learn her lesson.
