Tokoyo Region to Experience Blackouts All Summer

Headline: Tokyo Region to face rolling blackouts through the summer

Due to the loss of two nuclear powerplants in the Tokyo Region, the government will be monitoring the amount of extra electricity the city can use. Since the city of Tokyo runs their power at a different frequency from the rest of the country, they will be conserving 20% of their power resulting in blackouts. By conserving the amount of energy they use, they will save money and about 10 million kilowatts, cool huh? Saving money and energy=COOL, losing power and not being able to see for an x amount of time=NOT COOL.

Some blackouts in Japan have happened already, but more are expected in the upcoming months. Other companies and energy sources can only offer a certain amount of help, but not enough to make a huge difference. Like i said before, Tokyo runs on a higher frequency of energy, so if any company were to supply such energy- it would cost the same amount of money to build a new power plant. If you ask me, it's not worth it!

Poor Tokyo... That's what you get when your smarter, more technologically advanced, and a lot richer than the mighty US of A. Over and out, Montague.

It's probably terrifying to be in Japan right now, regardless of what part of the country one is in, and these blackouts aren't going to make it any better. Imagaine your home and school and LIFE being completely destroyed. Imagine being forced into temporary housing with family and friends or else into a shelter. Then imagine all of that PLUS no electricity! It sounds terrible.

Thanks for posting this Chris - I think it's important that we all consider and remember what others are going through!!

(PS - I'm so glad you like blogging! You're good at it!!)

Oh man, that's awful. How will they take care of their pokemons?
But on a serious note, wow, I could never imagine going through a season without electricity, let alone during the summer when I'm at home soaking up more electricity than ever.

I can't even imagine what it's like to be in Japan right now with the earthquake and the devastating losses, but no electricity?! I don't think I could live.
