Ebisu Circuit Hit Hard By Japan 8.9 Earthquake
This video was filmed at Ebisu Circuit in Japan, which is a track built specifically for drifting. A Japanese pro driver in the D1 Gran Prix series named Nobushige Kumokubo created the track years ago to give drifters a place to practice all year round.
Sadly, when the earthquake hit the country a few weeks ago, many of the small tracks and garages were destroyed. Cars had to be salvaged with cranes from garages that had slid off cliffs.
This video was made by Abbitt Wilkerson, an 18-year-old videographer from Seattle. He has been creating "Pray For Japan" and "Hope For Japan" stickers in support of the country, and all proceeds he has been recieving are being donated to the American Red Cross. (I bought a few of these stickers to support.)
This is relevant to me because I was planning on traveling to Japan this summer for a few weeks to visit Ebisu Circuit, but I don't think it will be able to happen due to the recent events.
I hope to see the track back together soon and the drivers doing what they love; drifting.

Mike,
This stuff is awesome and i cant believe that this happened. The Ebisu Circuit is a really famous circuit of drifting and that is really cool that you are going there for a visit. "Pray for Japan" and "Hope for Japan" sound like a really good idea and i hope that it helps everything and everyone that has been affected by the recent events. STAY DRIFTINGGGG
Mike! Why didn't you mention this earlier?! We've been talking about Japan since the earthquake. I'm so sorry that you don't get to go now. Hopefully they're rebuild quickly (like they did with the road you showed me!) and you'll still be able to make it over there soon!
Aw, I'm sorry Mike! That's awful, I hope that everything gets patched up so that you can still go :)
That's crazy, though, that the cars just fell off that cliff in the picture. Wouldn't they have been locked up somewhere, or were they in use at the time of the earthquake?
